The trader has hired the 82,100-dwt Crimson Express (built 2014) for 11 to 14 months at $7,650 daily, the Baltic Exchange reported today.
The rate for the Mitsui Soko-owned bulker compares with the present spot level of just below $5,000 daily.
Glencore has been active in the panamax period market over the past couple of months.
Data from the Baltic Exchange shows it has hired three other panamaxes on deals of similar lengths since the start of April, having taken three during March.
