The 57,070-dwt Maria (built 2010) was detained by Singapore's admiralty sheriff in the early hours of Friday morning.
The Marshall Islands-flagged ship was arrested on the instructions of local Singapore law firm Joseph Tan Jude Benny LLP.
AIS data shows the ship presently moored off Singapore’s Eastern Anchorage in position 01° 28.85'N, 103° 99.29'E.
The exact details as to why the ship has been arrested remain unclear, but it is likely to be related to outstanding payments for services.
