Malaysian Bulk Carriers (Maybulk) has reported its first ever loss with the company ending the year MYR 1.2bn ($285m) in the red.

The Robert Kuok-backed company attributed the poor result to provisions of MYR 975m which were taken in the fourth quarter.

These included MYR 368m in vessel write-downs, MYR 495.7m in impairments on write-downs at Pacific Offshore Services Holdings (POSH) and MYR 110.8m
