Golden Ocean shares climbed on both sides of the Atlantic today as investors reacted to news of its Quintana Shipping takeover.

Golden Ocean’s Oslo traded shares were up over 6% in afternoon trading, while in New York it had climbed by almost 8% during the US morning.

As TradeWinds reported last night, the John Fredriksen-led owner is taking over Quintana’s 14 strong fleet in a ships-for-shares deal.
