Fincantieri has ensured that its yards will remain busy until at least 2023 following a spree of newbuilding orders that boosted the company’s revenue in the first quarter.

The Italian shipbuilder said it is in line with its 2016-2020 targets as its quarterly turnover went up from EUR 1.05bn ($1.14bn) to EUR 1.1bn.

Fincantieri has won 19 cruiseship orders in 2017 so far from companies including Carnival, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) and Viking Ocean Cruises.
