Harren & Partner is to become the new dominant force in the heavylift market after buying SAL Heavy Lift from Japanese giant K Line, shipowner Martin Harren says.
The German owner confirmed the purchase this week, four months after TradeWinds initially tipped the company to complete the takeover.
Harren & Partner, which also owns Combi Lift, will own a fleet of 26 heavylift vessels after buying the SAL fleet of 15 ships, which will continue to trade as an independent brand.
