A Russian company has claimed the first shipping freight deal to be settled in the cryptocurrency bitcoin.
The shipment of wheat was carried on a bulker last month from Russia to Turkey, Prime Shipping Foundation (PSF) told Bloomberg.
The ship transported 3,000 tonnes from Rostov-on-Don to Samsun.
The cargo was part of a pilot test of the company's blockchain payment system for bulk commodities, according to CEO Ivan Vikulov.
