Scorpio – the first owner to reveal data showing how huge savings promised by yards on paper translated into the water – saw its own vessels outshine chartered-in non-eco tankers during the first quarter.
Its owned MRs carrying the eco stamp earned $20,726 daily in the three months to the end of March, analysts at RS Platou Markets note.
This is $4,300 daily above the average $16,453 per day cheque posted for the company’s chartered MR fleet, they explain.
