TheCyprus-flagged 74,193-dwt Sea Urchin (built 2001) was detained by lawyers fromlocal law firm Rajah & Tann.

AISdata shows the ship presently anchored off Singapore’s east coast inapproximate position 01° 17.50'N, 103° 54.22'E.

Theexact details as to why the ship has been arrested remain unclear, but it islikely to be related to outstanding payments for services.

MarshallIslands-registered, but Greece-based Alert Shipmanagement is reported to be theship’s owner and manager.

AlertShipmanagement is said to have bought the former Torvald Klaveness vessel GuinomarBastion in September 2005 for $36.5m.

This is the secondship arrest in Singapore in as many days and follows the detention of Hosco’s 81,667-dwtEverglory (built 2012).
