The Oslo-listed owner posted a loss of $18.4m, a major improvement on the loss of $33.8m seen 12 months earlier.
Freight income on a time chartered basis was up 9% to $51m, while voyage expense costs declined 17.5% year-on-year to $42.8m.
In the seasonally weaker third quarter, the average time charter equivalent rate (TCE) was $11,231 per day, some 12.8% higher than the third quarter in 2012.
