Analyst Omar Nokta lifted the tanker owner to buy from neutral suggesting it has the firepower to add a couple more VLCCs whithout turning to shareholders.

DHT yesterday confirmed an order for two $92.7m VLCCs at Hyundai Heavy industries, having been tempted to move by the latest eco design offered by the yard.

Nokta notes the deal comes after several quarters of materially improving finances at the shipowner, which had been quiet on the acquisition front since 2010 but is now in “growth mode” in an “improving market”.
