Speaking at the Ship Finance Forum at SMM in Hamburg he pointed out that the capital markets are a major source of funding with a whopping $20bn raised by the shipping and offshore markets since 2013.
Last year turned out to be a record year with $15bn raised, $10bn of which was aimed at the shipping markets.
US and Norway accounted for two thirds of fund raising, he estimates.
