The average confidence level expressed by respondents including owners, brokers and charterers was 6.1 on a scale of one to 10, down from the 6.3 recorded in May 2014.
However, this compares with the 5.9 of last year, indicating a small year-on-year increase in confidence levels.
Charterers expressed a significant increase in confidence this time, up from 6.1 to 6.7, the highest figure recorded by this category.
