Shipping will be under the general administration of one of the four large departments that Syriza has launched, the ministry of finance, infrastructure, shipping and tourism.
Giorgos Stathakis, a professor of economics at the University of Crete, will take over at the super-ministry.
Thodoris Dritsas, the party’s main shipping advisor, will be deputy minister of shipping and the Aegean.
Talking to TradeWinds a few days before the elections, Dritsas said: “Greek shipowners should participate in the public burden according to their potential.”
