The New York-quoted tanker operator reported net income of $28.5m, versus a gain of $11.5m in the same period 12 months ago.

The company pointed out that the result included the reversal of $31.9m in prior impairment charges.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) amounted to $25.6m, while fourth-quarter revenue rose to $47.3m from $21.8m year-on-year.

In a statement DHT said fleet expansion and a “stronger market” contributed to its improved performance during the period.
