It posted net income of JPY 26.8bn ($225.4m) for the 12-month period ended March, versus JPY 16.6bn the year before.
Operating revenue went up to JPY 1.35 trillion from JPY 1.22 trillion, mainly boosted by higher contribution from the liner and bulker segment.
But the weak dry cargo market resulted in the bulker arm of K Line posting smaller profit.
The Japanese owner is projecting improved revenue of JPY 1.46
