European Union regulators should drop their investigation of Greece’s tax regime because any further digging could open up a can of worms by exposing other member states’ tax shenanigans, the Union of Greek Shipowners (UGS) said on Friday.

 “We know about other tax regimes in which [people] hide behind labyrinthine laws and legal tricks but we have refused, and will refuse, to snitch on them,” UGS president Theodore Veniamis said in a joint press conference at Posidonia with EU Transport Commissioner Violeta Bulc.
