Greek shipping taxation must be adapted, a spokesperson from the European Commission (EC) has said.
Speaking to Greek news website insidestory.gr, spokesman for competition Ricardo Cardoso said: “EU Commission started an investigation into the Greek tonnage tax system since it does not appear to comply with the rules of the Maritime Aid Guidelines as regards the scope of supported activities, flag-link requirement and the rules on shareholder taxation.”
