Scorpio Bulkers has recorded a smaller than forecast second quarter loss.

New York-listed Scorpio logged a $24.7m red figure for the period, compared with a $138.6m reversal in the same quarter of 2015.

Noah Parquette of JP Morgan says lower than expected costs led to the stronger than anticipated numbers.
