Two key boardroom figures at Clarksons have snapped up stock in the London-quoted shipbroker in the wake of this week’s profit warning.

Chairman James Hughes-Hallett and director Peter Backhouse both invested in the FTSE 2015-listed company this week, exchange records show.

Hughes-Hallett bought 1,500 shares worth £27,000 yesterday. He paid £18.00 per share compared with the £22.10 per share close last Friday, the last full day before the shipbroker warned of "materially lower" profit for the coming year.
