Diamond S Shipping had one bite at the initial public offering apple in March 2014 and the experience was bittersweet.
There was enough investor interest for the offering of its 33 product tankers to float but not at a valuation high enough to please the billionaire investor behind Diamond S — chairman Wilbur Ross.
Ross and Diamond S walked away rather than accept a pricing he said was below the shipowner’s net asset value.
