The European Commission is still investigating a tax relief scheme involving shipyards in Spain, despite a General Court ruling in the shipbuilders’ favour.

EU Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager confirmed the probe is still open.

In December, the European Union’s General Court annulled a Commission decision declaring that the old Spanish Tax Lease (STL) system represented unlawful state aid.
