The majority of the companies in Flinter Group have been declared bankrupt.

The Dutch multipurpose shipowner filed for suspension of payments to creditors last month after domestic bank ING refused to refinance nine ships in the downturn.

This was approved by a court in Rotterdam, but has now been revoked for all but Flinter Management and Flinter Shipping.

The owner said: “The court appointed administrators have requested the district court of Rotterdam to revoke the suspension of payment and to declare the majority of the entities within Flinter Group bankrupt.”
