Wartsila profit down in Q2 as sales drop

Wartsila has reported a smaller profit for the second quarter as its net sales dropped 3%.

The maritime solutions provider posted net earnings of EUR 41m ($45.1m) from April to June, compared to EUR 109m at the same stage of 2015.

Net sales sat at EUR 1.2bn compared to EUR 1.23bn a year earlier.

Wartsila notified investors that it expects the sale of its stake in a CSSC venture to take a toll on its second quarter bottom line.
