New floating regasification mover Dreifa Energy has bought its first platform supply vessel (PSV) which it plans to convert into a floating regasification unit (FRU) as part of a low-cost LNG import solution.
The company, which was set up by two of the founding partners of Flex LNG just nine months ago, says it has entered into an agreement with Blue Star Line to buy the 2,597-gt PSV Blue Betria (built 1983), which it says was “extensively upgraded in 2015” and is trading in the North Sea.
