LNG marine bunkering pioneer Shell sees close to 30 ports worldwide working to supply the fuel, which could lead to a fleet of up to 50 LNG bunker vessels by 2025.

At a European naming event for the major’s first LNG bunker vessel (LNGBV) newbuilding, the 6,500-cbm Cardissa, Shell Downstream LNG general manager Lauran Wetemans said LNG was currently produced or shipped into receiving terminals at 150 locations worldwide — more than 50 of which are in key bunkering spots.
