Yamal lines up first cargo to load next week

A historic first shipment from Russia’s Arctic Yamal LNG project is due to be loaded in a high-profile ceremony next week.

Insiders say President Vladimir Putin is set to attend the event on 8 December at the project’s Sabetta terminal on the Yamal Peninsula.

Yamal LNG plans to load a shipment on its flagship ice-breaking LNG carrier, SCF Group (Sovcomflot)’s 172,600-cbm Arc7 newbuilding Christophe de Margerie (built 2016).
