Avance Gas president Christian Andersen says an acceleration in VLGC newbuilding activity is unfortunate but he is hopeful the ordering of new vessels is now slowing.
Exmar, Oriental Energy, Trafigura, Vitol and Pertedec have all inked new ships since September last year despite depressed market conditions.
Avance Gas counts 11 new VLGCs for delivery in 2018, many of which have already begun trading.
