Indonesian power provider PLN has gone out to developers with a request for proposals to provide a mix of onshore and offshore regasification plants and associated shipping for the Papua region.

The proposed development is part of PLN’s small-scale LNG import plans as it tries to switch its power-generation capacity from oil to cleaner-burning gas.

Consultants following the business said PLN has asked for initial offers on two small floating storage and regasification (FSRU) units of 4,000-cbm and 15,000-cbm capacity.
