Norwegian LNG carrier owner IM Skaugen said it is involved in a "massive" legal process with Teekay LNG Partners after the latter cancelled six bareboat charter deals last year.

The two companies had been in talks over Skaugen's refinancing at the time.

Skaugen said on Tuesday: "Given the strategic partnership with Teekay, and a long history of finding solutions and managing difficulties, we engaged with the aim to find solutions to the problems as they transpired, and we believed that this was possible.
