The company said it had opted not to confirm a letter of intent signed with STX France Saint-Nazaire in January 2014 for a new EUR 270m ($343m) ferry – dubbed Power Efficient Gas Innovative Ship (PEGASIS).
Also the company said it will not now fit LNG fuelling systems to the 41,700-gt Pont-Aven (built 2004), 22,542-gt Armorique (built 2009) and 35,592-gt Mont Saint-Michel (built 2002) and exhaust gas scrubbers to three older ships in a bid to comply with the incoming sulphur emissions regulations that will come into force from 1 January 2015.
