Stifel analyst Benjamin Nolan said K-Line, NYK Line and Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) are aiming to increase their fleets to at least 281 ships, compared to 188 LNG vessels today.

MOL is aiming to lift its fleet to 120 vessels in 2019, a 60% jump from the current 75 ships.

“MOL in particular is eager to add to is new entry into the FSRU [floating storage and regasification unit] market, but would only do so on the back of a long-term contract prior to ordering the vessel,” Nolan said in a note to clients.
