Golar LNG signs FSRU deal for Ghana project

Golar LNG announced it firmed up a deal to provide the first floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) to sub-Saharan Africa.

The US-listed FSRU and LNG carrier owner signed the deal with West African Gas to provide the unit for an LNG import project at the port of Tema in Ghana. Start-up is planned for the second quarter of 2016.

UK and Oslo-based Golar will moor the 170,000-cbm newbuilding Golar Tundra, which is to be delivered this November from Samsung Heavy Industries.
