Singapore’s PACC Offshore Services Holdings (POSH) has won the largest towage contract ever.
It will move the biggest floating structure ever built - Shell’s Prelude FLNG unit – from Samsung’s shipyard in Geoje, South Korea, to Australia, a journey of more than 3,000 nautical miles.
It will then position the FLNG before it begins production at the Prelude gas field.
The joint venture POSH Terasea clinched the contract after a “competitive bidding process,” POSH said.
