Dorian LPG reported a quarterly loss that fell short of analyst expectations amid a slumping market for LPG carriers.

But chief executive John Hadjipateras said the company is evaluating opportunities as long-term prospects leave room for further growth.

The Connecticut-headquartered LPG carrier owner reported a bottom-line loss of $1.3m for the second quarter, reversing a profit of $13.7m a year earlier.
