Up to 15 LNG carriers are storing cargoes in South East Asia, dampening market activity and delaying vessels earmarked for later shipments.

Brokers and industry players list a diverse group of vessels, including six modern M-type, electronically controlled, gas-injection ships and several tri-fuel diesel-electric and steam turbine-driven LNG carriers.

The group includes BP’s freshly delivered newbuilding, the 173,400-cbm British Partner, along with the 174,000-cbm newbuilding Flex Rainbow.
