Shipowners have submitted bids to Spanish utility Endesa to provide up to two LNG carriers against period charter deals.

Those following the business say commercial offers went in at the end of November from “multiple owners”. Bids on both LNG newbuildings and existing tonnage were submitted.

Endesa re-emerged in the market at the end of October after concluding a time-charter deal against a 180,000-cbm newbuilding contracted by Norwegian shipowner Knutsen OAS Shipping at Hyundai Heavy Industries in June.
