Norway's Eidesvik Offshore is making 30 crew redundant in tough North Sea markets.
Notices have been sent to seafarers due to laid up vessels.
"We are experiencing tough days. There is no doubt about that," CEO Jan Fredrik Meling told the Sunnhordland daily.
He added the owner cannot afford excess personnel, but said talks with staff have been positive.
Eidesvik has five vessels stacked.
