An arrest warrant was slapped on the 79,400-dwt bulk carrier Zhen Bang (built 2015) on Wednesday morning at the request of submarine cable operator Pacnet Network, which has filed an SGD 1.4m ($1m) unliquidated damages claim against the ship.
The Zhen Bang operates in the fleet of Grand China Shipping Hong Kong.
TradeWinds has been unable to ascertain the exact nature of the damages being sought, although it is likely to involve damage caused by a Grand China vessel to one of Pacnet’s submarine fibre-optic cables.
