Intercargo membership has hit record levels boosted by a fresh wave of entrants looking to cope with ever tighter regulation.

The number of ships registered with Intercargo rose by half in the first nine months of 2017 to 1,510 units with a total capacity of 138 million dwt, the association’s senior management said in a news conference in Athens.

New full members jumped from 77 to 102 over the same period.
