Sources in the US and UK are hearing that Sinochem is in talks to purchase the 306,500-dwt Shinyo Splendor (built 1993) from the New York-listed operator but are uncertain about price.
The VesselsValue.com database believes the unit is worth around $16.9m in today’s market, an estimate that falls far below the $34m value that Compass Maritime Services recently put on tankers of a similar age.
