“Shipping in Asia is very family-business-oriented, thus the ‘local’ factor is very important when considering listing locations,” Teddy Tsai, chief executive of Taiwan-based Markis Capital, tells TW+.
“Taiwanese companies list in Taiwan, while Hong Kong and Chinese companies list in Hong Kong or Shanghai. Singapore has a lot of local companies, but few are up to the scale and/or wish to become public.”
