The UK has moved to remedy a dearth of shipping and commercial experience among the judges at its top court with three new appointments.
Top lawyers had told TradeWinds earlier this year that the Supreme Court was dangerously devoid of such expertise after the departure of two veteran maritime legislators last year.
But the court announced on Wednesday that Lord Justice Nicholas Hamblen, 61, will join its ranks in January.
