The UK court of appeal has upheld a judgement holding Andonis Lemos and his Psari Holdings liable for part of the costs in a $1.6bn oilfield lawsuit.

He and other backers of the failed case must now pay £4.8m ($5.91m).

The saga began in 2010, when three leaders of Greece’s Lemos family shipping empire met with a trusted lawyer who was proposing an investment outside of their traditional shipping roots.
