Arbitration in Singapore is expected to be boosted by the advent of third-party funding.
Parliament has passed an act permitting the practice, and maritime lawyers expect it to come into force in the next few months.
“There have been cries for this, so I think it will take off,” said maritime lawyer Felicia Tan of Incisive Law, a local firm that operates in partnership with Ince & Co.
