The largest containership to date will soon transit the enlarged Panama Canal locks.

The 13,114-teu Cosco Development (built 2011) is expected to set a new size record when it passes through on 1 May.

With a length of 366 metres and a breadth of 48.2 metres, it will be the first in a series of what Alphaliner defines as “maxi-neo-panamax” units to navigate the Central American isthmus.
