South Africa has become the latest country to block the proposed merger of the container line operations of NYK, K Line and Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL).
The decision by the competition commission looks to have been influenced by alleged collusive activities by the three companies in the car carrier market in other parts of the world such as the US and Mexico.
