Several container feeder vessels that started the year as scrap candidates are being sold at improved prices.

Positive fundamentals for the feeder sector have translated into sustained buying demand for vessels of various sizes and ages, which is helping to bolster prices, according to European shipbrokers.

The trend includes vessels such as the 1,684-teu UAFL Zanzibar (built 1996), which the Essberger Group is reported to have committed for sale at a price of around $4m.
