Samoa said it could use the 182-gt utility vessel Tokelau (built 1991) as atraining ship or for spare parts.

The vessel was taken out of service by Tokelau last year after being deemed nolonger fit to carry passengers after 10 years of service.

Chief executive officer of Samoa Shipping, Papali’i Willie Nansen, said: “Even though the vessel cannot operate as a passenger carrier, we will lookat other uses.”
