The Swiss-Italian cruise company has announced that its59,000-gt cruiseship MSC Lirica (built 2003) will undergo a 24 metre stretch atFincantieri’s shipyard in Palermo. The work is set to begin in April next year,with completion scheduled for July.
The stretch will add a total of 200 new cabins to the ship.Industry analysts estimate that the additional capacity will boost the ship’srevenue generating capabilities by around $40m per year.
